Winter Break Mini-Camps

 John Jay Homestead – “WINTER BREAK MINI-CAMPS”

These are two hour drop-off programs for children ages five to ten that begins at 10 AM. Admission charge: $15 per child, $12 for Friends’ Members. Advance registration required. Please call 914-232-5651 ext. 101 to reserve your spot.

Wednesday, December 26
I Spy: Explore the historic house and discover the amazing architecture at John Jay Homestead. Look for undiscovered features around each corner. Learn about various architectural styles represented at the Homestead and in your community, and build a gingerbread house.
Thursday, December 27
The artist in you! Do you like art? Did you ever wonder what the difference is between a painting and a print? Or how long it took to have your portrait painted 200 years ago? Children will explore the extensive art collection at the Homestead, and then try their hand at print making.
Friday, December 28
Kids lives! What was it like to be a kid living 200 years ago? What subjects would they have learned about in school? Did they have any chores or household responsibilities? What did kids do for fun? Children will learn all this during a mini house tour and make a Jacob’s ladder.
