This summer Racoon Art Sutdio is offering a selection of afternoon 3-day mini workshops, Wed -Friday from 3:30-5:30( Mon-Wed July 4th week).Â
These mini courses are a preview to our fall curriculum.  Each week will bring something fun, different and exciting, so take advantage of our Summer Special Rate and sign up for all of them!
July 1, 2, 3 (Monday-Wed)Â Lego Builders
Children explore the many possibilities of Lego building, with guided directions and free expression.We will have robotics and computer demonstrations. Students will have the opportunity to become Lego members and receive free magazines and information.
July 10, 11, 12Â Bottle caps and Lids
Using bottle caps and metal lids as the canvas, the children will combine different materials to create mini art pieces. Each piece will then be made into a pendant, magnet, bracelet, key chain or something in the child’s imagination.
July 17, 18, 19Â Â Make me a Robot from scrap!
When it comes to using your imagination,this is the class to do it. Each child will create his own robot, using scrap. We will provide, boxes, egg cartons, cans, plastic containers and all sorts of nick knacks…..the children can bring additional recycled materials from home. Each robot will not only be unique but we will encourage the children to give it a function.
July 24, 25, 26Â Paper Making
This class will take the children through the process of paper making. From pulp to the finish and the many different recipes along the way.
July 31, Aug 1, 2Â Â Drawing Express
This class provides the basic foundations of drawing. The children will be introduced to pencil, charcoal and pen and ink. The class will draw from life, from the imagination and each student will complete a self portrait. We recommend Painting Express as a continuation.
August 7, 8, 9Â Â Painting Express
This class provides the basics foundations of painting. The children will explore, oil pastels, watercolors and tempera. Drawing express is a great compliment to this class.
July 1-Â August 9Â Â 6 Week Program
The complete program for an added $60 discount to the total tuition.
