John Jay Homestead Farm market Opens June 22nd on Historic Site in Katonah

Farm Market part of a nation-wide movement to raise awareness in the communities as to where their food comes from while offering local, organic, fresh, nutritious foods and products

Saturday, June 22nd marks the start of the third season of the John Jay Homestead Farm Market. On opening day, this independent market will welcome back 22 vendors and 15 new vendors. This week the featured vendors are Champagne Tea of Pound Ridge and Red Barn Bakery of Irvington. All the market favorites will be returning including Pizza Luca, with their mobile, wood-fired oven mounted on a 1952 Chevy truck, serving up authentic pizza Napoltana and Johnny Gelato of Carmel.

In addition there will be a variety of organic & conventional fruit, produce, gluten-free baked goods, artisanal baked items, bread, meats, dairy, seafood, prepared foods, as well as hand-crafted specialty items. This dog friendly market will host the SPCA of Westchester and their adorable rescue dogs. From 11-1pm, critically acclaimed singer/songwriter, Ian Charles will perform.

Shoppers can tour the historic Jay House or discover the new Education and VisitorCenter in the newly restored Carriage Barn, which features state-of the-art computerized interactive displays. For some family fun explore the new children’s Discovery Centers in 5 of the site’s historic buildings all filled with hands-on activities.
