A day of family fun to celebrate the emergence of spring! Visit our barnyard to meet our furry and feathered friends. Join a naturalist to discover signs of spring from the forest to the pond to the Great Lawn. Search for eggs in a nature-inspired egg hunt. Enjoy various arts and crafts activities too. Egg hunt and other fun activities will run continuously throughout the day.

ShopRite in Scarsdale has been a large supporter of the Greenburgh Nature Center (GNC) since their store opened in early 2010. It is through their generosity that many of our events have been possible. ShopRite is more than just a sponsor; they are a partner who enables us to build a relationship with the community and gives us the opportunity to increase awareness about the environment and wildlife by covering the costs of many of our events.

For our upcoming our Spring Celebration & Egg Hunt, ShopRite Scarsdale will bring approximately ten staff members who will volunteer for the day by cooking and serving food; they will provide all of the food and beverages sold throughout the event, and donate 100% of the sales from these refreshments to the GNC. Mike Olinsky, Store Manager of ShopRite Scarsdale, states “Everyone at these events walks around with a smile on their face. It gives us great joy to be associated with such a wonderful and important pillar of the community who connects people with nature.”

ShopRite has been a fixture at our Fall Festivals and Spring Celebrations for the past several years. Their hard work, donations, and support not only help us run our events but entice our visitors to stay longer since they are there selling refreshments and donating items needed to run some of our activities. Support the GNC and come hungry to our Spring Celebration!

This event is also sponsored in part by: California Pizza Kitchen, Gymboree, Hurricane Grill & Wings, Jake’s Wayback Burger, Macaroni Kid, Mathnasium, NEA Federal Credit Union, New York Life, SavATree, ShopRite, Snip-It’s, Venture Portraits, WFAS, Whole Foods Market Westchester, Town of Greenburgh, Greenburgh Parks and Recreation, and Westchester County Parks. Some of these wonderful and important sponsors will also be at our event, offering fun and interactive activities plus important information, coupons, and discounts.

This fun community event is great for all ages. Come for an hour or stay for the day! Event held outdoors, rain or shine!

Fee day of event: Members: $8 per person, Non-members $15 per person. Event held rain or shine; no refunds.
