Volunteer at PRLC’s first field volunteer session of the new year on Saturday, January 4th from 10-12noon to learn about protecting trees and middle-story shrubs from Asiatic Bittersweet Vines. We’ll learn hands-on how to manage our backyard native landscapes including meadows, wetlands and woodlands with a focus on preventing infestation of forested areas with non-native invasive plants. Meet at the Armstrong Preserve and Education Center, 1361 Old Post Rd. (Rt 121 just north of the causeway.) Parking up the drive at the house. Wear sturdy boots and bring work gloves, hand clippers and loppers if you have them. Check out PRLC’s opportunities to volunteer and ‘learn by doing’ on important local conservation projects, the first Saturday morning of each month throughout the year by checking our website. Middle and High school students welcome.
